Comes from one of my all time favourite songs by Gregory Alan Isakov (actually the only one I'm familiar with by him haha!)
This song really spoke to me, not in tr sense that I relate to it, but that everyone does. The song is called big black cars. In the lyrics, he compares himself to another in a way that makes them seem as if they're the most amazing human being - and don't we all want someone to think that?
The artist claims himself to be himself and all of his plain jane glory. I think that beautiful, knowing that to be something special, you don't have to be anything other than what you're comfortable with.
"Well you were a magazine, I was a Plain Jane just walking the sidewalks all covered in rain, love to just get into some of your stories. Me and all of my plain jane glory"
